Report: Carroll has a spot for Ty Law if he wants it

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Ty Law, remember him? Was one of the best cornerbacks in the league a few years back in New England. He's roamed around these past few years now, most recently in Denver last season.

He's 36, and there's a spot for him in Seattle, according to Pat Kirwan, senior analyst for NFL.com and certified F.O.P. That would be "Friend of Pete." Kirwan and Carroll worked together with the New York Jets and have remained close.

Here's Kirwan's excerpt from his most recent column on the league's official Web site.

"New Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said there's still a place for Ty Law on his team's roster."
   -- Pat Kirwan, NFL.com

• Cornerback Ken Lucas, an unrestricted free agent, is visiting Tennessee, according to this report from The City Paper in Nashville. Lucas began last season as a starting cornerback for Seattle, but fell out of the starting lineup after getting bowled over in Dallas by Felix Jones. By the end of the season, he was Seattle's sixth defensive back, leapfrogged by both Josh Wilson and Kelly Jennings on the depth chart.
