Seahawks add local long snapper
Posted by Danny O'Neil
The Seattle Seahawks signed Matt Overton, a long snapper, according to Overton's agent.
Overton attended Western Washington, and this past season played for the Florida Tuskers of the UFL.
Overton received a tryout with the Seahawks at a rookie minicamp in May 2007.
Seattle used two long-snappers last season: Kevin Houser, who played the first 14 games before suffering a collapsed lung. Jeff Robinson finished out the season. Neither Robinson nor Houser are under contract with Seattle for next season.
