Seahawks camp at a glance

Meet a Seahawk

Bryan Walters

Position: WR

Height, weight: 6-0, 190

College: Cornell.

Three questions

What would you do if you weren’t a football player? “I’d probably try use an economics degree to some extent, so I don’t know if it would be working at a bank, which I would hope not because that doesn’t sound very pleasing. But I’d be doing something out there in the corporate business world probably.”

Funniest person the team: “Ricardo Lockette. He’s just got that tone to him that anything he says I laugh at.”

No. 1 thing on your bucket list: “Well, would playing golf at Augusta count? I’ll say that.”

What happened

The Seahawks scrimmaged for the first time this season, with the first-team offense usually matching up against the second-team defense and vice versa. There was no tackling, and there were also no touchdowns: Just three Steven Hauschka field goals.

Play of the day

On a day the defenses didn’t allow a touchdown, defensive back Terrance Parks made a diving interception in the end zone on a pass thrown by Russell Wilson. The Seahawks were practicing the two-minute drill and had the ball near the goal line with about 15 seconds left when Wilson fired a pas to Jermaine Kearse in the end zone. The ball bounced off linebacker Heath Farwell, shot up in the air and ended up in Parks’ hands after he dove for it.

Injury report

How about this for a strange injury update: By the end Saturday’s scrimmage, fullback Kiero Small was the only healthy member of the Seahawks’ nine-member 2014 draft class. Second-round pick Justin Britt, an offensive tackle, started Saturday’s scrimmage but didn’t finish it because of a shoulder injury. The other seven players in the class didn’t play at all: WR Paul Richardson (2nd round/shoulder), DL Cassius Marsh (4th/hamstring), WR Kevin Norwood (4th/sore foot), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (4th/oblique), DT Jimmy Staten (5th/knee and hamstring), OL Garrett Scott (6th/rare heart condition), DB Eric Pinkins (6th, Lisfranc injury).

Attendance 2,555

The Seahawks are off Sunday before returning to practice on Monday.
