The Seattle Seahawks reaped another award, getting the ESPY Award for Best Team on Wednesday night during the annual show held by ESPN.

Cornerback Richard Sherman won the ESPY for Best Breakthrough Athlete and Sounders FC players Clint Dempsey and DeAndre Yedlin took the stage when the U.S. soccer team won Best Moment for its victory over Ghana in the World Cup last month.

Basketball

• Seattle University announced the women’s team’s 2014-15 schedule, highlighted by three contests against Pac-12 teams and a record-high 20 home games.

“We have an outstanding non-conference schedule, highlighted by Washington at KeyArena on Dec. 4,” said Seattle U coach Joan Bonvicini. “It’s another very challenging schedule, playing three Pac-12 schools. ”

Notes

• Cornerback Rashad Wadood is transferring from Arizona State to Eastern Washington.

• Seattle University women’s golfer Dorsey Addicks qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur, earning one of five spots at a qualifier in North Plains, Ore. The Women’s Amateur is Aug. 4-10 at the Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y.

• Shoreline’s Katrina Young and partner Amy Cozad (Indianapolis) advanced to the women’s synchronized 10-meter final at the FINA Diving World Cup in Shanghai. The duo scored 275.04 points to finish ninth in the morning preliminaries.
