Sunday at the combine
Quarterbacks, receivers and running backs went through the on-field combine ringer, including quarterbacks throwing to receivers. Kent State running back Dri Archer turned heads by running the 40-yard dash in 4.26 seconds, the second-fastest time since 2003 behind only Titans RB Chris Johnson. The day also marked the final round of media interviews as defensive backs spoke.
Quote of the day
“My stomach doesn’t stick out as much. That’s kind of nice. I like that part. My thighs got a little smaller. I just feel sexier, man.”

Alabama safety HaHa Clinton-Dix was asked about the best or worst thing he’d heard about his unusual first name. Clinton-Dix promptly responded, “The whole President Clinton thing with Monica Lewinsky. I didn’t know too much about that, but that’s what it was.” Suddenly, everyone else in the room felt very old.
Player to watch
Jordan Matthews, wide receiver: The Vanderbilt product is big (6-3, 206) and posted a good time in the 40-yard dash (4.46 seconds), but NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said Matthews struggled to get separation at the Senior Bowl.
Safety: The Seahawks might be looking for a safety in this draft to give them some depth behind starters Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor. Backup strong safety Jeron Johnson is a restricted free agent and barely played this season because of injuries. Backup free safety Chris Maragos is an unrestricted free agent.
Defensive linemen and linebackers will conduct their on-field workouts (40-yard dash, bench press, etc.).
