SUNDAY FORECAST

Cloudy with a high of 44 degrees and a wind of 7 mph. Zero percent chance of rain.

ON THIS DATE

Jan. 30, 1983: MVP John Riggins ran for 166 yards (on 38 carries!), leading the Redskins to a 27-17 upset of the Dolphins in a game played at the Rose Bowl. This was the first year the network broadcasting the game (in this case, NBC) premiered one of its shows after the game. So, after this one, viewers were treated to the first episode of “The A-Team.” Mr. T attended the game to help hype the occasion.

PREDICTION

J.T. The Brick, Fox Sports radio

“Seahawks, 24-23. Believe it or not, I picked Seattle last August, before the first exhibition game. I’ve got to stick with them, even though if I’d known it was the Broncos, I’d never pick against Peyton Manning.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Michael Robinson, answering a question to Marshawn Lynch about how he feels about Skittles.

“He loves his Skittles before the game, boss.”
