Chat rewind with former Seahawks quarterback Jon Kitna

After a highly successful career at Central Washington University where he led the Wildcats to the 1995 NAIA National Championship, Jon Kitna appeared to be at the end of his football playing days in 1996.

He wasn't picked in the NFL draft, but he impressed then-Seahawks coach Dennis Erickson at a tryout and turned that chance into a notable 15-year pro career with Seattle, Cincinnati, Detroit and Dallas. He even guided the Barcelona Dragons to the NFL Europe title in 1997.

Currently, he is a math teacher and football coach at Lincoln High School — his alma mater 7#8212; in Tacoma. Last December, he came out of retirement to serve as a backup QB in one game for the Dallas Cowboys. He donated his salary for the game to Lincoln High.

Kitna was available to answer questions about his playing days in Ellensburg and Seattle, the Seahawks' Super Bowl showdown with Denver and more in a live chat on Monday afternoon.
