Seahawks stat geek
Seattle receiver Doug Baldwin hasn’t dropped a pass all season, with making receptions on all 23 catchable passes thrown his way.
The Seahawks’ loss of receiver Sidney Rice for the season means a bigger role for Doug Baldwin. Baldwin has been primarily Seattle’s slot receiver, with an emphasis on third downs. But now he will also have to play more outside receiver.
In the good-news department, Baldwin ranks as one of the most effective receivers in the NFL.
According to Pro Football Focus, Baldwin is one of eight receivers in the NFL who have been thrown at least 20 catchable balls who has yet to drop a pass. Baldwin has caught all 23 passes that have come his way, the sixth-most receptions without a drop (Larry Fitzgerald leads the NFL going 36 of 36).
No other Seahawk ranks among the top 20.
Baldwin has the fifth-highest wide-receiver rating in the NFL, which is the quarterback rating when a receiver is targeted. The rating when Baldwin is targeted is 128.7. Seattle QB Russell Wilson’s overall rating is 99.0.
