TAMPA, Fla. — First-round draft picks Mark Barron and Doug Martin scored touchdowns, helping the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 30-28 in an exhibition game Friday night.

Barron, a safety from Alabama, intercepted a pass tipped by Ronde Barber and returned it 22 yards for a first-quarter TD for the Bucs (2-1). Martin, a running back from Boise State, scored on a 1-yard run that finished an opening drive led by quarterback Josh Freeman.

The Patriots (1-2) traveled to Florida early in the week to practice with Tampa Bay twice in preparation for the game.

Brady played three quarters in his most extensive action of the exhibition season. He was 13 of 20 for 127 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.

Bears beat Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Jason Campbell threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Joe Anderson with 8:22 to play and the Chicago Bears rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit against the New York Giants' second-team defense to beat the Super Bowl champions 20-17.

Starting quarterback Jay Cutler threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall, and Robbie Gould kicked two field goals for the Bears. Isaiah Frey intercepted a pass in the end zone with 1:06 to play to preserve the victory.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning was 17 of 21 for 148 yards and threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ramses Barden.

Other exhibitions

Eagles 27, at Browns 10

Rookie quarterback Nick Foles, filling in for injured starter Michael Vick (bruised ribs), threw two touchdown passes in the first quarter to lead Philadelphia past mistake-prone Cleveland.

Foles, who played college ball at Arizona, finished 12 of 19 for 146 yards with one interception.

Eagles rookie Chris Polk of Washington rushed for a game-high 39 yards on six carries.

Browns rookie QB Brandon Weeden of Oklahoma State went 9 of 20 for 117 yards.

Falcons 23, at Dolphins 6

Rookie Ryan Tannehill from Texas A&M went 11 for 27 for 112 yards and one interception in his first game as Miami's starting quarterback, and the Dolphins lost to Atlanta.

Falcons QB Matt Ryan went 18 for 26 for 220 yards.

Chargers 12, at Vikings 10

Nick Novak's 45-yard field goal as time expired gave San Diego a victory over Minnesota, after Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder struggled along with the rest of the starting offense.

Earlier, Nate Kaeding made field goals of 50 and 54 yards for the Chargers.
