Players of the game
• The Seahawks' Doug Baldwin returned the opening kickoff 37 yards on a reverse, downed a punt at the St. Louis 6 and then blocked the first-quarter punt Michael Robinson returned for the only touchdown of the first half. Baldwin scored on a 29-yard touchdown reception in the second half.
• The Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch carried 23 times for 115 yards and scored on a 16-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Play of the game
The Seahawks had a hunch they could block a punt coming around the left side of the Rams' protection, and that's exactly what happened. Baldwin lined up for the block and came crashing in. Baldwin blocked Donnie Jones' punt, and fullback Robinson scooped it up and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown.
Turning point
The Rams, trailing 13-3 in the third quarter, had first-and-goal at the Seattle 1-yard line. After running back Steven Jackson was stopped for no gain on first down, St. Louis ran what appeared to be a naked bootleg. Safety Atari Bigby was coming on a blitz, and he was on top of quarterback Sam Bradford almost immediately in the pocket. Bradford threw the ball in the end zone, but was penalized for intentional grounding. St. Louis' third-down pass was incomplete, so the Rams settled for a field goal and never got closer than seven points the rest of the game.
Seahawks surprises
• The Seahawks blocked a punt for the first time this season.
• Seattle won back-to-back games for the second time this season, marking the first time since 2007 the Seahawks have two winning streaks in the same season.
By the numbers
365 days since receiver Deon Butler suffered a broken leg at San Francisco. He caught his first pass since that injury in the first quarter Monday.
7:17 time consumed by Seattle's 14-play field-goal drive in the first quarter, the Seahawks' longest drive in terms of time of possession this season.
4 interceptions by Brandon Browner in the past three games. He's the first Seahawk since Darryl Williams in 1997 to pick off at least one pass in three consecutive games.
Injuries
Rams: CB Josh Gordy suffered a hip injury. LT Mark LeVoir suffered a groin injury in the second half.
Seahawks: LG Robert Gallery suffered a hip injury and was replaced by Jarriel King in the fourth quarter. LB Leroy Hill suffered a stinger.
Quoteworthy
"We're on track to find ourselves, and where that leaves us at the end of the season. There's a lot going on. I don't know the (playoff) scenarios, I don't even care. I just want us to go play, I want us to practice really well on Wednesday." — Seahawks coach Pete Carroll
