Players of the game
• Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin caught eight passes for 136 yards, most by any Seattle player this season.
• Giants QB Eli Manning threw for 420 yards, most by a Seahawks opponent since Philip Rivers' 455 yards in Week 3 last year.
Play of the game
New York had the ball on first down, 10 yards from the go-ahead touchdown with 1:25 left in the game. The Giants had three receivers bunched to the left, with Victor Cruz the furthest outside. Walter Thurmond dived to tip a pass as it got to Cruz. After Cruz bobbled it once, it caromed off safety Kam Chancellor and into the arms of cornerback Brandon Browner, who returned it 94 yards for the game-sealing touchdown.
Turning point
Seattle scored a TD by taking a deep shot after Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora jumped offside. Baldwin ran alone toward the end zone as the safety double-teamed Sidney Rice. Baldwin caught a 27-yard touchdown pass to give Seattle a lead it never lost.
Seahawks surprises
• The Seahawks forced five Giants turnovers after Seattle had just two take-aways in its first four games combined.
• Marshawn Lynch gained 98 yards rushing, his most in any regular-season start as a Seahawk.
By the numbers
242 yards Seattle gained in the first half. The Seahawks averaged 254 yards in their first four games.
47 yards Lynch gained on a first-half run, Seattle's longest regular-season run from scrimmage since Julius Jones' 62-yard TD run in Game 1 of 2009.
Injury report
Seahawks — QB Tarvaris Jackson suffered what the team called a strained pectoral muscle in the third quarter and did not return. TE Zach Miller suffered a concussion and did not play in the second half. LB Jameson Konz suffered a knee injury. RG John Moffitt was suffering from cramps in the second half, but returned. LT Russell Okung limped off in the fourth quarter, but indicated he was fine.
Giants — OG Chris Snee suffered a concussion and was taken to the hospital for observation.
Quoteworthy
Coach Pete Carroll: "At 2-3, it doesn't mean anything to anybody else and I don't care, but to us, we're growing and we're getting there and we're coming along, and I'm excited for us to get back at it."
