Seahawks' two-minute drill
News and notes from Seahawks' loss to Giants
Players of the game
• Hakeem Nicks caught six passes for 128 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown on a post route that was the longest play from scrimmage for either team.
• Eli Manning passed for 290 yards, three touchdowns and finished with a quarterback rating of 125.8.
Play of the game
Nicks' 46-yard touchdown came on a play in which the Seahawks sent five defenders after Manning, who still had as much time as he wanted. He threw to Nicks on a post route, who made a diving reception while defended by Kelly Jennings. That was the second of five consecutive touchdown drives by the Giants.
Turning point
The Giants faced third-and-eight on their third possession of the game, and Manning overthrew Steve Smith. But Seattle's third-down stop was nullified by a penalty against safety Earl Thomas for illegal contact on Smith, awarding the Giants an automatic first down. New York scored a touchdown on the next play, the second of its five touchdowns in the first half.
Seahawks surprises
• Seattle didn't allow a sack just a week after it gave up eight in Oakland, its highest single-game total in 18 years.
• The Seahawks committed three turnovers while forcing only one, a drastic turnaround after Seattle had forced 12 turnovers in its first three home games.
By the numbers
142 Minutes without a touchdown for Seattle, a drought that started after Mike Williams' touchdown catch in the second quarter against Arizona and didn't end until Ben Obomanu's fourth-quarter scoring catch against New York.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll: "We have seen the upside of our team, and we've also seen the downside. To be here at this time, really what I'm seeing is a coach's challenge. We have to figure out how to get ourselves back on track."
Injury report
Seahawks — S Earl Thomas suffered a left ankle injury in the first half, but returned in the second half. TE Chris Baker suffered a foot injury in the first half, but returned.
Giants — David Diehl suffered a hip injury, but X-rays were negative.
