Seahawks to sign former Bills quarterback J.P. Losman
J.P. Losman will begin by competing for a spot on the roster against Mike Teel, who was Seattle's No. 3 quarterback last season.

Seattle parted ways with one quarterback with local ties Tuesday, releasing Mike Reilly of Central Washington University, and the Seahawks are on the brink of adding a former first-round pick at that position.
J.P. Losman is expected to join the Seahawks on a one-year contract. The Associated Press said the deal was for $630,000.
The move doesn't reshape Seattle's offense. Losman will be competing to make the roster, but it shows Seattle is exploring many options to improve its depth.
That's what led Seattle to claim Reilly off waivers from St. Louis two weeks ago, taking a look at the undrafted free agent who had spent time with the Steelers, Packers and Rams in his first year out of school.
After two weeks, Seattle decided to move on, releasing Reilly to make room for receiver Marcus Maxwell on the roster.
Losman's addition has not yet been finalized, but is considered imminent.
Losman was the 22nd overall pick in the 2004 draft, and he played his first five seasons with Buffalo. He was 10-23 as a starting quarterback for the Bills.
Losman, 29, played in the UFL last season, and was subsequently signed by the Oakland Raiders. He appeared in one game for Oakland.
In Seattle, Losman will begin by competing for a spot on the roster against Mike Teel, who was Seattle's No. 3 quarterback last season. Matt Hasselbeck is the established starter and Charlie Whitehurst is currently No. 2 in the pecking order of Seattle's pocket.
