Seahawks raise prices slightly for season-ticket renewals
Largest per-seat renewal increase for any season-ticket holder is $5 per game.
Seattle Times staff reporter
The Seahawks raised prices for season-ticket renewals for the first time in two years, according to information the team sent to season-ticket holders recently.
The average increase was about 3 percent. Prices for club seats — the most expensive at Qwest Field — did not change. The largest per-seat renewal increase for any season-ticket holder is $5 per game.
The Seahawks continue to have a waiting list for season tickets, Blue Pride, which recently numbered about 10,000. The waiting list goes back to June 2006, when the team cut off season-ticket sales at 61,000 — the most in franchise history.
The Seahawks did not increase season-ticket prices last season. However, they did charge the approximately 6,000 new season-ticket holders more for their seats. This season, there are two tiers for season-ticket renewal pricing, for those who've held season tickets before 2009 and for those who bought them for the first time last year.
According to a list of average NFL ticket prices compiled by Team Marketing Report, the Seahawks' average ticket price ranked the fifth cheapest in 2009.
