Marc Ross is newest name to be added to Seahawks front-office search

Marc Ross, a New York Giants executive, is reportedly a candidate for Seattle's job opening.

Seattle Times staff reporter

Add Marc Ross, a New York Giants executive, to the candidates linked to Seattle's job opening atop its football operations.

Ross will be interviewed by Seattle next week, news first reported by ESPN.

Ross, 35, is the Giants' director of college scouting, a position he has held the past two seasons.

That news came as there were indications Cleveland might be closing in on naming a general manager. The Browns are scheduled to interview Will Lewis, Seattle's director of pro personnel, this week. Lewis has worked in Seattle for a decade, coming to the Seahawks from Green Bay with Mike Holmgren in 1999.

The Browns are also considering Tom Heckert, the Philadelphia Eagles' GM. Heckert has been mentioned as a potential Seahawks candidate, too, but there was no indication the sides have met, and The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Heckert had canceled an interview with Seattle.
