Seahawks' Ken Lucas is expected to play Sunday

RENTON — The Seahawks handed out commemorative game balls to three players Friday, which is customary after every win.

Matt Hasselbeck received one for his play on offense, Darryl Tapp for his performance on defense and Ben Obomanu for special-teams contributions.

The first game ball of the week, however, was more heartfelt.

Ken Lucas was given a game ball Sunday immediately after the game. No specialized painting or inscription. Just a ball from the inspired game Lucas played two days after learning his father died.

Lucas was in Mississippi this week, attended his father's funeral Friday and is scheduled to return to Seattle today. Lucas is expected to play Sunday, but what role hasn't been decided.

"He's had the film, he has the game plan," coach Jim Mora said Friday. "He's working out, but we haven't decided yet."

Josh Wilson and Kelly Jennings practiced as Seattle's first-unit cornerbacks this week, and Travis Fisher will be able to play after suffering an injury to his pelvis in last week's game.

Left-side story

Kyle Williams is expected to start at left tackle Sunday, the third different starter at that position in six games this season. Seattle had a total of five players start at left tackle in the previous 12 years combined.

Damion McIntosh, signed Tuesday, will be active for the game but isn't expected to be used unless there's an injury.

Who will play left guard is unclear. Mansfield Wrotto started there last week, but Steve Vallos finished the game.

"We'll see," Mora said. "They could split time."

Head start?

Don't expect an encore of Owen Schmitt's bloody sacrifice before Sunday's game. First of all, Justin Griffith remains Seattle's starting fullback after missing the past three games, but even if he didn't, Schmitt won't be bouncing his helmet off his head before a game any time in the near future.

"That has been cut out of the pregame ritual," he said.

Consider it the end of an era. Schmitt was first filmed bashing himself after botching a pooch punt while at West Virginia. He did it last year before a game with the Seahawks and got a stern warning from coach Mike Holmgren.

Then came Sunday's reprise in which he opened up a cut on his forehead and blood trickled down, covering his face.

• WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, the $40 million free agent whose 27 catches are his lowest five-game total since 2005, told AP on Friday, "I just got to get these coaches to realize, throw me the ball. Maybe I've said it too much. I just got to show them now." Houshmandzadeh had two TD catches, his first of the season, in the 41-0 win over Jacksonville.

• DE Patrick Kerney is expected to play after missing last week's game because of a strained groin. WR Nate Burleson (back) and Fisher are probable.

• Arizona TE Stephen Spach (ankle) is the only player ruled out for the Cardinals. Five others are questionable, which means a 50-50 chance they won't play: WR Steve Breaston (knee), CB Bryant McFadden (ankle), DE Kenny Iwebema (ankle), RB Jason Wright (back) and LB Ali Highsmith (thigh).
