Day 22 highlights
Branch in spotlight?
The Seahawks focused on getting receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh the ball last week against the Broncos. Expect Deion Branch to be in the crosshairs of the passing game this week. Branch has yet to catch a pass in two exhibition games, and he has seen his receptions decline annually over his three seasons in Seattle. He's scheduled to make more than $4.9 million this season.
Living on the Edge
Edgerrin James was at his second practice as a Seahawk, but he isn't practicing all that much. James has not participated in 11-on-11 team drills yet for the Seahawks. Whether he plays Saturday in Kansas City will be a game-time decision, coach Jim Mora said.
Duckett drop a shock
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was asked for his thoughts on the addition of James. "It surprised a lot of us in the locker room, but that's just something that we're not in charge of," he said. "We don't get to pick who's on the team. What we have to do is just try to be the best we can be individually and try to make the team better ... Now that Edgerrin is here, I think it's an exciting thing for our team to have a guy of his caliber and what he's done in the past. It's impressive. There's a couple of guys probably like Craig Terrill trying to get his autograph."
