Seahawks' Howard Green signs with Jets
Green is second Seattle free-agent defensive tackle to leave, following Rocky Bernard, who signed with the New York Giants.
Seattle Times staff reporter
Howard Green, a Seahawks backup defensive tackle, has agreed to a two-year contract with the New York Jets, according to The Sporting News.
Green appeared in 13 games last season as a backup and had one sack. He is the second defensive tackle Seattle did not re-sign this offseason, following Rocky Bernard to New York. Bernard signed with the Giants on the second day of free agency.
Seattle moved to upgrade its tackles by signing Colin Cole from Green Bay. He will start alongside third-year tackle Brandon Mebane. Craig Terrill and Red Bryant are the backups.
