Seahawks two-minute drill
Vote
Players of the Game
Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald: Five catches for 130 yards (including a 50-yard play); 2 TDs. Finished season with team-high 12 TDs.
Cardinals WR Steve Breaston: Five catches, 91 yards, TD.
Cardinals QB Kurt Warner: 19 of 30 for 263 yards, 4 TD passes.
Seahawks WR Deion Branch: Six catches for 90 yards, 2 TDs.
Play of the Game
The 38-yard touchdown pass from Warner to Fitzgerald, against Seahawks CB Marcus Trufant, in the third quarter. The Cardinals knew they had an advantage with the burly Fitzgerald against the Seahawks' smaller cornerbacks. On this play, Trufant had pretty good coverage but couldn't get in front of Fitzgerald, who caught the ball in the end zone for the score and a 21-14 lead.
Turning Point
After the Seahawks had cut Arizona's lead to 28-21 in the fourth quarter, their defense faltered — even though the Cardinals replaced Warner with backup Matt Leinart. A drive that started with 12:04 to play at the Cardinals' 20 produced a 29-yard pass to Breaston, a 35-yard Edgerrin James run, a facemask penalty on Seahawks DE Baraka Atkins and a missed interception by S Deon Grant that might have gone for a touchdown. Arizona got a field goal out of the possession, extending its lead on the way to the win.
Sunday's Seahawks Surprises
• P Jon Ryan faced a heavy punt rush, but had a net average of 40 yards on four punts.
• K Olindo Mare missed a 42-yard field-goal try wide left in the second quarter, his first miss since Nov. 23 against Washington.
• DE Darryl Tapp had a sack and forced fumble. He finished the season with 5 ½ sacks to tie for the team lead.
• The Seahawks' offensive line of backups allowed only one sack, the only one in the season's last two games.
By the Numbers
3 of 13 The Seahawks on third down (23 percent).
5 Combined turnovers by both teams, three for the Seahawks.
3 of 3 The Seahawks on fourth down. They went for it more times than in any other game this season.
11 Seahawks penalties, a season high.
0 Number of games left in Mike Holmgren's career as Seahawks coach.
Injury Report
Seahawks: CB Kelly Jennings injured his left shoulder in the third quarter but returned later in the game. LT Kyle Williams suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter; he was carted off the field and taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons. Holmgren expected Williams to be fine, and the tackle flew back to Seattle with the team later Sunday.
