Seahawks Nate Burleson out for season

Seahawks receiver Nate Burleson will have knee surgery and will miss the rest of the season. Burleson was hurt in the Seahawks' 34-10 loss at Buffalo on Sunday.

RENTON — Seahawks receiver Nate Burleson suffered a torn knee ligament in the third quarter of Sunday's loss in Buffalo, and will undergo season-ending surgery.

Burleson caught five passes before leaving, including a touchdown. He led the team in scoring receptions last season with nine.

Wide receiver Deion Branch is not expected to play this week, coach Mike Holmgren said, and Bobby Engram remains out, as well. Holmgren said it's possible backup quarterback Seneca Wallace will play more time at receiver, and the team might look to the free-agent market to find a veteran to add to the roster.
