VMAC attack: The Seahawks moved into their new Renton headquarters for good. Two-a-day practices continue through Thursday, when the team breaks camp. The morning practice was indoors; the afternoon special teams practice was outside in a light rain.
Keeping it in perspective: Any excitement about being in the new facility was tempered by coach Mike Holmgren's temperament Monday morning. Holmgren spent extra time with the offense after it was responsible for 10 of the 12 penalties in Saturday's exhibition win over Chicago. He also had some pointed words for the team in the post-practice huddle.
Branch bit: WR Deion Branch was running agility drills on his own away from practice and moved well on his surgically repaired left knee. "He still has some pain, which is understandable after that surgery," Holmgren said. "We're not quite there yet."
Stars of the day: LB Lance Laury and WR Logan Payne. Laury had a good showing in a one-on-one coverage drill that pitted the linebackers against the tight ends, knocking down two passes. Payne made the catch of the day in the end zone on a ball tipped by CB Kevin Hobbs, reeling in the carom for the score. He later made a nice catch of a deep ball from QB Charlie Frye.
What's shakin' with Frye: Holmgren wasn't too happy with Frye's three-interception, 209-yard performance Saturday. Then Holmgren saw the game film and noticed that Frye took a lot of hits. "I was actually proud of the fact that he hung in there, because he got hit too much in the game. I was not happy with that," Holmgren said.
