Offensive plays of the day: WR Jordan Kent used all 6 feet, 4 inches of his height, and then some, to make the catch of the day when he leaped to snare a pass from Seneca Wallace. The morning practice ended with the two-minute offense, and the first unit drove for a touchdown when Matt Hasselbeck threw a screen pass to FB Leonard Weaver from the 7-yard line. The second unit also scored when, on fourth down, Wallace hit TE Joe Newton in the end zone.

Defensive plays of the day: DT Howard Green, who had one of his best practices of camp, shedded a block and stopped RB Maurice Morris for a loss. CB Marcus Trufant gave up a catch to WR Bobby Engram, but wrestled the ball away from Engram as the two came down. That drew a cheer from defensive coordinator John Marshall.

Snap judgment: The Seahawks are trying to get through practices without starting center Chris Spencer and backup Chris Gray, who are out with back injuries until Monday at the earliest. Steve Vallos, pressed into service as the No. 1 center, accidentally tripped Hasselbeck after a snap and had his quarterback limping around for a few plays. Mansfield Wrotto, the No. 2 center for now, was part of three botched exchanges with Wallace. In fairness to both, they are guards being asked to handle the center spot.

On the lighter side: At one point during the morning practice, the air horn that signals a change in drill sounded. As the defensive and offensive linemen turned to walk to where the rest of the team was standing, Hasselbeck looked over and shouted "False alarm!"... The most congratulatory guys on the defensive line are DE Darryl Tapp and DT Craig Terrill, who like to do a side-bump celebration with teammates after a linemate wins a one-on-one battle against an offensive lineman. On Friday they celebrated with each other, raising their arms and lifting a leg while not leaving the ground as they bumped.
