Seahawks reportedly find Zorn replacement

Bill Lazor, the quarterbacks coach of the Washington Redskins, will take the same position with the Seahawks, according to reports in today's Washington Post and Washington Times.

Seattle Times staff reporter

Bill Lazor, the quarterbacks coach of the Washington Redskins, will take the same position with the Seahawks, according to reports in today's Washington Post and Washington Times.

If Lazor is hired -- which could be confirmed as soon as today -- he would replace Jim Zorn, a Seahawks legend as a player who took the offensive coordinator position with Washington last month.

Lazor, 35, played at Cornell until 1993, then spent seven seasons as an assistant at the school. He has been an offensive quality control coach with the Atlanta Falcons and an offensive assistant with Washington before being promoted to quarterbacks coach for the 2006 season.

Lazor was largely responsible for the development of Washington quarterback Jason Campbell, one of the top young passers in the NFL.

Zorn was Seattle's quarterbacks coach from 2001 to 2007.
