Contest | Help us build a Nirvana timeline
Posted by Stephanie Clary
On April 16, Experience Music Project's "Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses" exhibition opens and will feature memorabilia related to Seattle's iconic grunge band.
To prepare, we searched through our own archives to start building the dipity timeline above, which includes concert and CD reviews, news about Nirvana's MTV and "Saturday Night Live" appearances, and reaction to lead singer Kurt Cobain's death.
Dipity allows us to feature videos, text and photos in an interactive way, but we're missing many of moments in the band's history. And this is where you come in, dear readers: Before EMP's opening, we want you to help us fill in the blanks of our timeline.
You may submit photos from your grunge past, reviews of Nirvana concerts, songs or CDs, or any memorabilia you have. Here are the contest details, rules and how to enter.
And your efforts won't go unnoticed. Our favorite entries will win prizes related to the EMP's opening and exhibit. And all approved entries will be included in our dipity timeline, which will be featured on seattletimes.com as we cover the events around "Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses."
