ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Seattle Reign FC got two goals in the final minutes, including one by Sydney Leroux in the 90th minute, to pull out a 2-1 victory over the Western New York Flash on Sunday at Sahlen’s Stadium.

The win kept the Reign (11-0-2) unbeaten. The Flash fell to 5-7-2.

Victory was secured when Leroux dribbled past goalkeeper Lydia Williams off a chip into the box by midfielder Jessica Fishlock as Seattle extended its unbeaten streak to a league-record 13 games.

“Today’s match demonstrated the character of this team yet again,” Reign coach and general manager Laura Harvey said. “Whenever we face adversity we stay together and refuse to give up.”

After a scoreless first half, with the teams combining for just three shots (two by Seattle), the Flash got on the board first in the 61st minute, with midfielder Samantha Kerr heading one past goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer off a corner kick from Vicky Losada.

Kopmeyer was starting in place of Hope Solo, who was unavailable after she was arrested early Saturday for allegedly striking her sister and her nephew at a Kirkland home. Solo, who had been excused from the Reign’s game last Thursday, had been expected to be available Sunday.

Seattle scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute with a free kick by Scottish international Kim Little from 35 yards out. Little’s ball was served into a crowded box and deflected off Flash midfielder Carli Lloyd before sailing past Williams for the goal.

Just seven minutes later, Leroux’s third game-winning goal of the season would give Seattle the lead and would prove to be the difference.
