The Rob McKenna - Ozzy Osbourne connection
A Politics Northwest investigation has uncovered the previously undisclosed connection between straight laced Republican Attorney General Rob McKenna and heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne.
Our ten-minute investigation found that McKenna's gubernatorial campaign paid $51,189.94 for media production in May to ad company Chatham Light Media.
Among that firm's other clients is none other than Osbourne, best known as the vocalist for the seminal heavy rock band, Black Sabbath.
"And here I thought there were three degrees of separation," joked McKenna's campaign manager, Randy Pepple, who denied McKenna is making a music video.
Osbourne isn't the only music celebrity who has employed Chatham Light to produce music videos or other promos. Other clients include Shakira, Sting, Tony Bennett, Katy Perry, and the hard rockin' Nebraska Chamber of Commerce.
Actually, this pairing isn't as odd as it may seem: Chatham Light is the creative affiliate of Doug McAuliffe, a seasoned political TV-ad consultant who boasts on his website of helping win dozens of congressional contests -- and nine gubernatorial races.
Pepple confirmed McAuliffe has been brought on board to do McKenna's TV ads.
