Mitt Romney: Somewhere in Bellevue
Presidential candidates of all stripes have a habit of sweeping into our state and attending fundraisers at private homes, then zooming back out of town.
Sometimes, there is a public event, or at least public notification of the when, where and what of the visit.
Not so, for Mitt Romney's visit to Bellevue/Medina Monday night. It is tres hush hush. "This event is closed to the press,'' said one Romney campaign spokesman. "It's invitation only."
All we know is it is a fundraiser at a private home "somewhere in Bellevue,'' as state Republican Party Chairman Kirby Wilbur put it. Want to give us some details? Um. no.
A cash machine is a cash machine. Romney and President Obama hold private fundraising endeavors all over the country, some with more information than others.
Romney was in Portland earlier in the day and the protesters seemed to know more about his whereabouts there.
