Seattle developer Blume to host Obama at high-priced fundraiser

President Obama's scheduled Thursday swing through Seattle will include a $35,800-per-couple fundraiser at the home of Ann and Bruce Blume, according to an online invitation from the president's reelection campaign.

Bruce Blume is the founder and CEO of The Blume Company, a commercial real estate firm. Ann Blume is secretary of the board for SightLife, a nonprofit dedicated to ending corneal blindness, and serves on boards for Seattle University and University of Washington.

The couple are major Democratic donors and contributed $50,000 to Obama's inauguration party. They recently listed their six-bedroom Broadmoor home for sale for $2.95 million.

After the high-priced brunch, Obama will attend another fundraiser at the Paramount Theatre. That event will cost $1,000 for general admission, or $5,000 for a photo reception with the president. Jam band leader Dave Matthews will warm up the crowd.

No public events have been announced as part of the political visit. Obama was last in the Seattle area in February, for an official speech at Boeing's Everett plant, followed by a pair of political fundraisers.

Obama has raised more than $3.4 million from Washington state donors, according to the Federal Election Commission. His Republican rival, Mitt Romney, has raised about $1.1 million from the state.

After his Seattle stop, Obama is set to jet off to California for a star-studded fundraiser at the home of actor George Clooney. That event alone is expected to bring in $12 million, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
