The art of Jay Inslee, Pt. II
As we've mentioned before, Democratic gubernatorial contender Jay Inslee has been making a special pitch to supporters who sign up to make a recurring contribution to his campaign fund.
Inslee sends his so-called "J-Team" members a sketch he's personally drawn each month. His first was an impressionistic colored-pencil drawing of a Lopez Island beach.
Inslee recently emailed donors a second work of campaign art: a still life of an apple on what appears to be a blue-checkered tablecloth.
There is an apple slice lying near the apple. But apple has no visible slice cut from it. Could the slice be from the other side of the apple? Or does the sketch imply a second, unseen apple? Indeed, this piece raises deep metaphysical questions.
