Source: Inslee will announce run for governor early next week

Posted by Jim Brunner

Update 6/23/11 1:00 p.m.: We now have a more complete report on this announcement, available here.

Democratic Congressman Jay Inslee's long expected announcement that he's running for governor in 2012 will come early next week, a source with direct knowledge of his plans has confirmed.

Inslee, who has represented Washington's 1st Congressional District since 1999, will enter the race as the presumptive Democratic front-runner, heading for a match-up against Republican State Attorney General Rob McKenna, who declared his candidacy earlier this month.

Inslee is expected to make his announcement in Seattle.
