Biden to join Murray for Oct. 8 rally in Tacoma
Posted by Jim Brunner
Vice President Joe Biden will head to Tacoma for a "get out the vote" rally with U.S. Sen. Patty Murray next month.
The Murray campaign says the event will take place Friday Oct. 8 at the University of Washington Tacoma.
It will be free and open to the public, with registration starting at 9 a.m.
The Murray campaign is asking those who want to attend to RSVP at www.pattymurray.com/pierce or call 206-286-9199.
Biden's visit is just the latest reminder of Murray's importance to the Obama administration's hopes of maintaining a Democratic majority in the Senate.
Biden previously headlined a Seattle fundraiser for Murray in February.
The President campaigned for Murray here last month. And First Lady Michelle Obama will headline a fundraiser for Murray on Oct. 25.
Murray issued a statement on the Biden visit through her campaign office:
"I am very honored to welcome Vice President Biden back to Washington state in October. He has been a true champion for middle and working class families across our state and nation. This election is about continuing to move our country forward and take care of families and businesses on Main Street," said Senator Murray. "There's no one better to help us get out the vote than a good friend of Main Street, our Vice President. I look forward to joining him in Tacoma next month."
