Former City Attorney Tom Carr headed to Boulder

Posted by Emily Heffter

Former Seattle City Attorney Tom Carr is moving to Boulder, Colo., to work as city attorney there. According to a story in the Boulder Daily Camera, the Boulder City Council unanimously selected Carr from among three finalists to lead the city's law department.

Over on the Slog, Dominic Holden reports that the City Council in Boulder particularly hopes Carr will help reduce drinking-related crimes in Boulder.

Car, who served two terms as Seattle City Attorney, was criticized for a 2007 nightclub sting. "Operation Sobering Thought" yielded no major convictions and was called politically motivated by club owners.

Carr is also known for creating a community court and cracking down on car theft.

Pete Holmes beat Carr in November with more than 60 percent of the vote.
