President Barack Obama is meeting on Capitol Hill with House Republicans who are crucial to striking deals on immigration, gun legislation and bringing the nation's debt under control - issues Obama says are second-term priorities.
Wednesday's meeting is the second in a series of trips the president is making to Capitol Hill this week to court lawmakers.
And it comes the day after Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, the House Budget Committee chairman, unveiled a budget plan that proposes to repeal Obama's health care law and cut spending across a swath of programs dear to Obama and Democrats.
Obama criticized Ryan's proposal as more of the same.
The president will return to the Hill on Thursday to meet with Senate Republicans and House Democrats. He met with Senate Democrats on Tuesday.
