Republicans have yet to pick up a Democratic seat, as the two parties fight for control of the Senate. An independent, former Maine Gov. Angus King, also picked up a seat currently held by retiring Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe.
The two parties are fighting for control of the Senate. Democrats had locked up 42 seats as of 9:45 p.m. Eastern Time and Republicans 41 seats, including the 67 seats not up this election. Democrats currently hold a 53-seat majority, including two independents who align with them.
