WASHINGTON —

The U.S. has named three leaders of the Nigerian militant group Boko Haram, along with a Basque separatist commander, to the U.S. terrorism list.

Boko Haram is blamed for last year's deadly attack against the U.N. in the Abuja, the capital.

The State Department says Abubakar Shekau is the group's "most visible" leader, and that Abubakar Adam Kambar and Khalid al-Barnawi have forged close ties with al-Qaida.

The action blocks any assets the men may have in the U.S. and barss Americans from doing business with them.

The U.S. added Aitzol Iriondo to the list for alleged involvement in killings for the Basque group ETA, which long has sought a homeland in parts of Spain and France.

Iriondo is awaiting extradition to Spain from France on murder and terrorism charges.
