Washington enjoys hot weather

MARK HARRISON / THE SEATTLE TIMES

Hot weather escapes to cool water don't need to include jumping from a bridge like these young fellas did on a recent day at the Jordan Bridge Park on the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River.

Despite the crowded conditions Owen Barron, 2, and his mom Kat seem to enjoy the water as they swim in the wave pool at Henry Moses Aquatic Center in Renton on July 15, 2014. There are also two 26-feet high water slides, a lap pool, lazy river, toddler water area and various other water features. Classes are available all summer long and Renton residents pay discounted prices for entry fees. The center has two sessions everyday, one from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the second 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It will be open until September 1, seven days a week.
