LINDSEY WASSON / THE SEATTLE TIMES

Thousands of people make their way toward and from the Aurora Bridge during the 30th annual St. Patrick's Day Dash on Sunday, March 16, 2014, to benefit the Detlef Schrempf Foundation in support of Northwest children's charities. The dash led more than 4,800 participants from Seattle Center onto Highway 99's Aurora Bridge and back, filling both sides with a sea of Irish cheer. The first-place male runner was Joe Gray, with a time of 16:58, while the first female finisher was Kristen Carter, with a time of 19:13.
