Homeless families await help: Number just grows and grows

Maria Chavez, 11, holds Patrick, 6 weeks, in a tent at the Julia's Place shelter at Madrona Grace Presbyterian Church. It's one of three shelters run by Mary's Place. The families there often help one another out, and Maria was watching Patrick as his mom finished nightly chores.
