A windsurfer zips by a short-lived rainbow over Lake Washington as he battles Saturday's sporadic rain and high winds, reported by the National Weather Service at 35-45 mph, with gusts of up to 60 mph. Higher up, the Cascades are expected to have accumulated another 2 feet of snow by Sunday morning.

MARCUS YAM / THE SEATTLE TIMES

A large tree branch fell during Saturday's strong winds, taking down power lines at First Avenue West and West Highland Drive in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle. Nearly 70,000 customers in the region lost power during the day, utility officials estimated.
