'Deer Dance' a thanks from Japan

GREG GILBERT / THE SEATTLE TIMES

Japanese dancers Shutaro Koiwa and Yasuo Sato, from 300-year-old Gyozan Maikawa School and Shishi-Odori Preservation Group, perform the "Deer Dance" Saturday at the Seattle Center Pavilion. They're part of the Cherry Blossom and Japanese Cultural Festival at Seattle Center, which continues 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. The dancers, who will also perform Sunday, are here to say thank you to the people of Seattle for helping the region after the tsunami and earthquake in 2011.
