King Street Station's beauty reborn

Celebrants and travelers throng the restored waiting room Wednesday at Seattle's newly refurbished King Street Station. After a decade of repairs and updating, the 107-year-old depot's passenger waiting hall has been reborn.

An interactive panoramic view of King Street Station as Mayor Mike McGinn addresses the crowd. Over the past 5 years, the station has gone under major renovation and seismic retrofit. Enhancements include refurbished clock tower, new terracotta roof, installed elevator for ADA compliance, and upgrade of all mechanical, electrical, plumbling and fire protections.
