Sea-Tac tunes in on local sounds

BETTINA HANSEN / THE SEATTLE TIMES

Dave Harmonson, of Seattle, also known as "Country Dave," performs in the A gates at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Thursday. This week kicked off live music performances by local artists in different sites around the terminals as part of the Sea-Tac Airport Experience The City of Music program. Two performers will be featured at the airport each day, Monday through Friday, for the next 12 weeks. Harmonson has played in several bands around town and counts artists like The Byrds and California country-rock sound as influences, and will be participating in a Merle Haggard tribute show April 11 at the Columbia City Theater. "I'm a fan of the old country music, not much of the new stuff," he said. "There's an endless supply of good old music around."
