Jim Grelle, University of Oregon runner, set a Scottish Highland Games track meet record of 4:18.6 for the mile, Saturday, Aug. 10, 1957, at Wast Seattle Stadium. Jack Larson, left, of the University of Washington, was second, with a time of 4:19. Both men beat the previous record of 4:23.4.
