Pete Di Turi is one of about 30 people to get their heads shaved at a St. Baldrick's event over the weekend at Fado Irish Pub and Restaurant in downtown Seattle. The St. Baldrick's Foundation, a childhood-cancer research organization, holds head-shaving fundraiser events close to St. Patrick's Day. The foundation funds the most promising research to help find cures for kids with cancer. It allows physicians and scientists to continue their work with the money raised with St. Baldrick's events like this one. Shaving Di Turi's head, at right, is Sydney Brown, a stylist at Gene Juarez Men's Salon in Bellevue.
