Easy Street Records in Queen Anne closes

Easy Street Records, one of Seattle's few record stores, closed their lower Queen Anne branch after 12 years in business with one last concert Friday.
"I couldn't have asked for a better night," said store owner Matt Vaughan. "Better to burn out than fade away."
Crowds packed the store from front to back, and a line snaked around the block to listen to indie rock band Yo La Tengo.
Meagan Mays, of Nashville, Tenn., got her first job at the age of 16 at Easy Street's Queen Anne branch. She was upset to hear the news of the store's closing.
"I cried for two days and I bought a plane ticket here," she said. "It was the best decision I made. This right here is the best night of my life."
Easy Street Records will continue to operate their West Seattle branch.
