Lydia Lund, a 22-year-old volunteer, breaks down holiday decorations at the Volunteer Park Conservatory on Wednesday. Around 10,000 to 12,000 people visited the conservatory during December, and around 900 on New Year's Day, said David Helgeson, senior gardener. "It was crazy," he said. "It was off the hook." The display included a model train, lights, nutcrackers and other decorations.
