Postcards from the past: New Year's Eve, 1968

The New Year will come in on a Viking ship at the Blue Ridge Clubhouse Tuesday, when the club holds its annual New Year's Eve party with a Scandinavian flavor. Mrs. Halvor Ryan, left, is party chairman, assisted by Mrs. Bill VanSkyhawk, center, and Mrs. Thorpe M. Kelly and their husbands (not pictured). Other committee members include the Messrs. and Mesdames Fred Kern, Richard Gilbert, Bruce McKim and Norval Phelps. The party, which will begin at 9:30 p.m., will include dancing and a midnight smorgasbord. ~ The Seattle Times, Dec. 29, 1968
