This year, we have three exciting places to showcase our best photojournalism for the year:
• The Seattle Times' first book designed for the iPad, is now available on the iBookstore. Inside "The Seattle Times Pictures Of The Year | 2012" you'll find 135 photographs and 12 videos -- images from throughout the year that reflect the events of the year, our region and our community. The book will be updated for free in January with additional photos from December. It costs $2.99 in the iBookstore:
• The Pictures of the Year issue of Pacific NW magazine is coming Dec. 30 in the Sunday Seattle Times. The magazine builds on its 31-year tradition of celebrating our photo staff's best work, including insights from photographers into the stories behind the images.• The Pictures of the Year live event will be Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Seattle Public Library. Join Seattle Times photojournalists on a remarkable journey through the 2012 Pictures of the Year. Our award-winning staff will offer you a behind-the-scenes glimpse of photojournalism: the photos, the craft, and the story behind each image. It's a special look at the events from the past year that helped shape our region. For more information, please visit spl.org.
