A purple-haired Bailey McGowan, with arm raised, and other participants play in the annual WhirlyBall League Halloween tournament in Edmonds on Thursday. The costumed tournament is a tradition of about 15 years. Jimmy Gabriele, league manager, says the Edmonds location is the longest-running WhirlyBall facility still in operation in the nation, and that the idea for bumper-like cars originally was created for Disneyland.
