Wildfire smoke hangs in valleys along the eastern slope of the Cascades, as seen from this aerial view from near Wenatchee looking south toward Mt. On Sunday, fire officials reported that the 24-square-mile Cascade Creek Fire on the southwest slopes of Mount Adams is about 55 percent contained.
